4.Website Types
Now that you are familiar with the underlying technology, we can talk about content type. On a broad scale, websites can be divided into three categories.
1.Personal
Personal websites are just that. Personal. They make a personal statement. They represent you as a person. They give a glimpse into your thoughts and ideas. They emphasis your very personal style. Blog has taken over as the most popular form of Personal website. Blog is a short for WebLog. Which is basically a Web Log. Your personal log on the Internet.
2.Business
A Business website represents your Business. It has to look professional. The content should be accurate and to the point. It should inspire confidence in your prospective customers. A good Business website can make a huge difference in your earnings.
3.E-Commerce
An E-Commerce website or a Web Store is used to sell products over the Internet. There are some special requirements for an E-Commerce site. It should display your products properly. If should make it easy for the customers to shop, and it should be able to process Credit Card or other form of payments. Major CMS have an E-Commerce engine/module usually called a shopping cart that can be used for the same. Drupal has good support for E-Commerce.
